4H on Parade at Stampede Park

Here is Rachel waiting patiently for her class to start
Having some fun on Bubba and still waiting
These are Chelseas banners and ribbons from her Steer and Heifer that she showed this past weekend.
She won this buckle for Showmanship with her steer Benji
She won Grand Champion Yearling Heifer with Sophie. I missed her showing her because I was with the girls and their horses showing in another building. So I wasn't able to get any photos of her. I hear that she looked great!
This is our cat Zoe waiting for the birds to come out, sneeky...

Taylor and Doc just after their equitation class, she got 3rd!
Rachel and Bubba after the equitation class, she came 2nd. Rachel and Taylor had to show against each other.
Chelsea in the sale ring with Benji, she was very sad to sell him. I was even crying... it is very sad. She has done so well with him and he looked so good! We will have to find out how good he really is.... Benji Burgers anyone?
Here are all the ribbons that Rachel and Taylor brought home. They did very well at 4H on Parade. Rachel won Reserve High Point. She was very excited!

Here is Taylor and Sarah walking to her class at the corral down at the park.
Rachel in her pleasure class, she should really be looking straight ahead and not at me, but she still did very well. They thought that it was very cool to be riding at the Corral.
Rachel and Taylor in their pleasure class.

Taylor should be paying attention again, they are waiting their turn to do their pattern in the equitation class.

Waiting in the hitching ring for their class to begin, this is about 8:00 am, so they are excited but also very tired
Taylor on Doc
Rachel on Bubba

It was a very long weekend, but also alot of fun! We stayed right down at the grounds in the trailer because we had to get up so darn early, 5:00 am!!!! The girls had to feed and then warm up their horses before the classes started at 8:00 am. Glad to have it over, lots and lots of fun!
Jack loved it, thanks mom for helping me out with Jack so that I could help the girls for their big show!

4H Beef Achievement Day for Chelsea

Chelsea showing her heifer SOPHIE in the showmanship class where is was awarded JUNIOR GRAND CHAMPION SHOWMANSHIP
She was very excited to win this. She also won Junior Grand Champion Heifer with Sophie as well
Jack playing in the shavings
She clipped him and did all the work by herself
Getting Benji's legs fluffed up
Cute little butt

Chelsea came first in her weight class and was in the Championship class, but did not win. The girl standing beside her won Grand Champion Steer. Benji looked awesome, Chelsea did a very good job of showing him. She will take him into 4H on Parade in just over a week. As well as Taylor and Rachel, they will be showing their horses. They also cannot wait for this big show! Should be lots of fun!!!

Branding Time....

Jack in his own little world... we were playing just on the other side of the fence where they were dragging calves to be vaccinated, castrated and branded.
Rachel and her friend Erinn getting into the nut bucket. They were in charge of cutting out the "praire oysters" and taking them into the kitchen to get fried up! They are yummy!!!!

They really got into this, Rachel loves this kinda thing.
Jack loves to sit up front in the truck. He has the keys and knows how to use them... so I cannot leave him alone in the truck with the keys.

Taylor going to get the nut bucket filled.
Jack was very thirsty and this was the smallest and most kid friendly drink at the brandings
Taylor, Rachel and Erin waiting for the bull calves to be casterated so they can collect the goodies!
The guys doing their thing...

Jack was really wanting to help... maybe next year.
He wouldn't leave this horse alone, she was so good with him and she is only 4 years old.
Rachel collecting the nut sacks... "I wasn't sure how to say that politely"...
He loved to watch all the calves
Jack on the horse yet again

Good Morning Jack! Would you like some popcorn with your breakfast?

Here is our little Jack muffin... It is 9:20 am and he just woke up. This is an unusal time for him to get up, but he got up, turned his tv on and plunked in "Monsters Inc.", and sat in his chair with his popcorn (from last night) and watched the end of his movie. Troy and Jack were watching it last night, but Jack fell asleep, so he had to get up to finish his show.

1st Horse Show of the Season!!!

Taylor warming up on Doc, not too sure what she is looking at but she is in her own little world
Taylor came 3rd, I think this was for her western pleasure class, she was sooo excited!
Taylor was actually in the ring waiting for her time to ride, she was singing and just being Taylor. She got 1st place in Western Equitation, very excited
Here is Rachel coming out of her last class of the day. She was sooo excited, she got 1st place in Western Equitation.
IIn between their classes, meeting at the trailer.
Here is Jack riding Bubba, he loves riding! He screamed when we had to take him off. He thinks that he is way too cool.
Just prior to taking him off Bubba
Taylor and Rachel warming up with their friends Stephanie and Logan who are also in their 4H club. Taylor was in the same classes as them and Rachel was in another class. The coordinator separated them so they didn't have to compete with each other. I thought that was great!
Just after their english classes. They were very excited about finishing so well. Their horses worked very well for the both of them.

Here is Rachel and Bubba coming out of their english pleasure class. She got 2nd!
Very proud of her ribbon.
Here is Chelsea on Dodger, this was her english equitation class. Her horse is amazing, he worked very well with her.
Taylor on Doc waiting patiently for her class to start
Daddy and Jack, Jack is not fun to take to a horse show. There was an annoucement to please stop children from running upstairs in the loft (the viewing area ), That wasn't Jack? Was it?
What do you think? We chased him around everywhere. He would not go to sleep.

Taylor in the warm up ring, what a cutie!
Here is Rachel on Bubba in the warm up ring, I just love seeing her in her little english outfit.
Chelsea and Doger, 1st place in English Equitation
Rachel waiting patiently for her class to start.
Taylor in her english pleasure class

Rachel and Troy waiting to go into her showmanship class. Bubba was very bad. He wouldn't stand for her, so she didn't even place. But she was okay with that...
Taylor coming out of her showmanship class, she got 5th place with Doc!~
Rachel and Bubba just before her showmanship, as you can see she was very happy.
In her showmanship class. Bubba is not a halter horse, he hates this class. He works better in the ridden classes
I love this picture of Rachel.
We had a great day, it was Rachel and Taylors first 4H show. Their next big show is in the city at 4H on parade. They are very excited for that show. Chelsea will not be showing her horse, she will be showing her steer and her heifer.
